There are multiple projects being worked on under the Legendary Tales brand. Some are supplemental material for current projects, while others are ambitious works that are slowly being developed over the course of the next few years. Check them out!_____________________________________________________________- TALES OF LEGEND -
Fantasy Tabletop Roleplaying GameTales of Legend is a passion project as a way to create a Fantasy TTRPG in the same vein as Dungeons and Dragons and Pathfinder. As a forever Game Master, I found that it was much easier to develop my own worlds, monsters, and magic item concepts. The more I played, the more I wanted a system that simply provided me with the mechanical framework for combat, skill checks, monster and item development, and I could go from there.Tales of Legend is a short, 30 page rulebook that gives easily memorized, yet tactically satisfying rules for character creation, combat, skill checks, and magic. The following 30 pages gives rules for creating different monsters, as well as 50 example monsters for your games. It has absolutely no lore associated with it, designed to be the mechanical framework to support YOUR creative ideas.Tales of Legend includes a classless, flexible character development system, a unique concept for magic and ranking spells, and rules for creating balanced magic items and monsters, as well as plenty of examples. No fluff. No lore. No flavor text. An easy to reference instruction manual for the "game" part of your role-playing game, getting out of the way of you and your friends as you create your legendary tales._____________________________________________________________- VOIDSCAPE -
Space Fantasy Tabletop Roleplaying GameAfter finishing Tales of Legend, I wanted to develop a TTRPG based in space, due to my love of Star Trek, Star Wars, Warhammer 40K, and other Space Fantasy and Science Fiction settings. However, I quickly discovered that I would have to take a completely different approach to the genre. There is a common understanding of fantasy tropes and settings which allows Tales of Legend to be what it is, but the same can't be said for space settings. Thus, Voidscape takes an opposite design philosophy. It has a universe with deep lore, factions, classes, and technology specific to the setting.Equip your personal electromagnetic shields, load your handheld railguns, and grab some nanotech medkits, as you explore a galaxy full of every sort of space adventure you can think of.Come see the legendary tales you can explore in the Voidscape._____________________________________________________________- CONVERGENCE: ESSENCE AND ENTITIES -
Deckbuilding Battle GameAs a lover of both Magic: The Gathering, and Yu-Gi-Oh growing up, I have always loved card battle games, especially the interesting combinations you can make when deckbuilding. I have played so many, and enjoy them. However, as the years have gone on, the speed of these games and the complexity of the systems made them less fun for me.So with Convergence: Essence and Entities, the idea is simple. Have multiple different themes of cards, customizable monsters, a simple mechanic for beating your opponent, less math, and high levels of customization, all rolled into a slower, more methodical and tactical card game, where all the cards you need are available in the starting set.As a Caster, you build two decks, one with entity templates, and the other with spells. You use Essences that correspond with a particular elemental color to imbue your entities with specific characteristics, so that no two entities are exactly alike. The Caster who depletes their opponents personal shields and directly attacks with an entity first, wins. But you also must make hard decisions, as the very entities and spells in your hand are what you use to fuel your Essence pools and defensive shields. This turns Convergence into a battle of wits, resource management, and long-term planning as two Casters battle. The prototype set for Convergence is complete, and plays very well. Unlike the TTRPGs, however, this is a physical product that is going to require much more support and infrastructure. Hopefully there will be more information on the development of the game in the near future._____________________________________________________________- LEGENDARY TALES: CHILDREN OF LIGHT -
Isometric Turn-Based JRPGOne of my first passions as a kid was playing "Breath of Fire III" and "The Legend of Dragoon" on the Playstation. Since then, turn-based RPGs have always been my favorite genre of video games. It has always been a dream of mine to create one of my own. In the present day, it has never been easier to develop and create video games, and I am in the process of creating the isometric JRPG I've always wanted to play.Legendary Tales: Child of Light will follow a protagonist and their group of friends through an adventure that will uncover the history of their world, release cosmic forces, and have a ton of sword swinging and spell slinging along the way. But at the core of this game will be the character progression and combat system. There will be a total of 30 different Paths the heroes can take, and every 5 levels they take in each path, they will lean a series of skills. As the player, you will be able to customize every single one of your 10 playable characters, and experiment with different path, skill, and gear combinations to play, allowing for an incredibly customizable battle experience.Other planned features planned include a New Game + option, allowing you more customization early on, and a much harder version of the game, an open world filled with sidequests allowing for collecting of powerful gear, and a couple of branching narrative paths.Currently, as I learn how to code, I have a working battle scene, and the data for early level characters, skills, items, and enemies. I hope to release a battle-only version of the game for the first 5 levels at some point. The goal is to have it as an isometric 2D experience like Breath of Fire III.
Hi everyone! My name is Andy. I’m a professional musician, game designer, and aspiring professional nerd based in North Carolina.Legendary Tales is where I bring my game design ideas to life by turning a collection of hyperfocus passions into projects I can share with others.I started my journey as a creator through homebrewing for 5th Edition D&D. As a forever DM with only a couple of games each week, I found myself diving deeper into the design side of tabletop roleplaying games. What began as homebrew grew into full campaign settings, subclasses, spells, and items, eventually leading me to design entirely original classes. After publishing on DMsGuild, I decided to take on the biggest challenge: creating my own system. Tales of Legend became my first full game, and since then I’ve continued expanding into new systems and ideas, while sharing my work at local conventions. Now I’m focused on the next stage of the journey—finishing projects, growing an audience, and building something meaningful, all alongside a full-time job and family life.I hope you enjoy our games!
